For dealing with the universe of work, the group is headquartered at the Laboratory of Studies on Work, Professions and Mobility (LEST), from the Department of Sociology at UFSCar. It is mainly composed of researchers with PhDs and students at UFSCar, who have interest and investigative activities on religiosity, economic associations and political engagement. NEREP treats religion as a considerable source of guidance for conduct, including with regard to economics, thus adopting economic sociology in the analysis of the religious phenomenon. It is also dedicated to issues related to associated work, cooperativism, self-management and solidary economy. Some of the group's members are also part of the Multidisciplinary and Integrated Nucleus for Studies, Training and Intervention in Solidarity Economy (NuMI-EcoSol/UFSCar) and the Brazilian Association of Solidarity Economy Researchers (ABPES).
